How The Snug Tuck Pillow Safety Bedrail Works:
Soft bed pillows are a safety hazard to children because there is a possibility of suffocation. But the first thing that parents do when their children fall out of bed is to stack soft pillows around them. They do this because they want to keep their children safe and comfortable while they sleep. Not only are these pillows unsafe, they do not stay in place. Railings are a safety hazard and don't fit many mattress sizes.
The Snug Tuck Pillow Safety Bedrail is different. It is completely safe to have on a child's bed, and can even be made of optional flame resistant fabric (fire retardant fabric is also non toxic). The shape and firmness is the key to its safety. The shape never changes no matter how it is moved, and there is always space for the child to breathe freely. Also the pillow rotates or swivels when the child presses or rolls against it. This is the way the pillow is meant to function. Materials used to make the pillow are of the highest quality. The pillow itself is made from the finest quality non toxic (with no harmful chemicals including no PBDB's), dust free, bedding foam.
The pillow is secured by running the elastic strap attached at one end of the pillow under the top mattress and through the lever buckle at the opposite end. Then pull elastic tight and close the lever buckle. The strap holds the pillow securely to the bed and the lever buckle makes is easy to secure and release. The pillow clings and curves to the edge of the mattress acting like a big long protective arm.
The pillow works on all mattress sizes, no matter how thick. Use it on pillow top mattresses, futons, day beds, toddler beds, side car beds, etc... No box spring is necessary. It can also be used to fill in gaps at the head, foot, or side of the bed. The pillow can be used together on any side of the mattress. Perfect for co-sleeping and family beds. Allows the baby or child to sleep next to the pillow, instead of in the middle where there is a possibility of injury or suffocation. Bunk beds with big gaps, or insufficient railings, use the pillow to solve these problems as well. Works well for the elderly or physically impaired, giving a softer and more comfortable barrier.
Snug Tuck Pillow Safety Bedrail is not a restraint. As with any bedrail, babies that are crawling, but not yet cruising, can climb over the bolster pillow while awake. Babies at this stage should not be left in bed alone without supervision. Teach you baby how to back down from the bed as soon as they are cruising (walking while holding onto furniture). This can be taught by showing them how to get on their tummies and sliding or backing down feet first.
